This project involved transforming a flat 2D vector design into a fully realized physical souvenir toy for the Venice Surfing Association, in collaboration with Thought Merchants. The process required meticulous 2D layout planning to ensure an efficient laser-cut workflow on MDF board while maintaining structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. Key aspects of the project included: Precision measurement and fit testing through multiple test prints to guarantee seamless part assembly in the physical world. Efficient material use to optimize laser-cutting while preserving design accuracy.
3D visualization and rendering to preview the final look before fabrication. The result is a carefully crafted miniature lifeguard tower, embodying Venice Beach’s surf culture while being a functional and collectible souvenir.
