Jabulani Animation
I'm a huge soccer (football) fan and watch and play regularly, so I wanted to have some fun incorporating that passion into this project. My love for the sport started in 2010, and I vividly remember the iconic 'Jabulani' ball from that year's World Cup. The intricate design really stood out to me, so I decided to use it as the centerpiece for my project. Surprisingly, I couldn't find any tutorials on modeling the Jabulani in Houdini, even after searching on YouTube. I eventually found this article by William Vaughan that walked through the process of modeling it from a basic platonic shape. I also used a tutorial from the SideFX website to guide me through recreating the ball’s basic structure and added my own touch to complete the project.
